On several fronts, 2025 has been a year of change, including in the project management profession. At the 2025 Annual Membership Meeting, held during the PMI Global Summit, PMI Board Chair Ike Nwankwo made the following comments.

"At PMI, we've always believed in the power of progress and building the future together. The progress we've made lately is extraordinary. We're transforming our organization and our profession. Guided by our PMI:Next strategy and our cultural values, we're breaking records. The numbers show PMI is stronger than ever. Our research on project success challenges us to deliver more value to everyone involved and to lead with confidence. We're not just managing projects, we're lighting the way."

Throughout 2025, PMI has been conducting innovative research, creating new resources, and forming alliances to help grow the organization and the profession. These initiatives are giving project managers the training and tools they need to meet today's challenges while enabling their professional growth. In 2026, PMI plans to build on its success by continuing its research, unveiling new products, refreshing old ones, and revamping its membership model.

Join us as Olivia Hampton, the PMI SC Midlands Chapter's current Vice President of Membership, gives us a review of what PMI introduced in 2025, looks ahead to what's coming in 2026, and provides insight into how PMI is increasing membership value.

Olivia Hampton is the PMI South Carolina Midlands Chapter's current Vice President of Membership. She has held several volunteer roles in the chapter, including Vice President of Professional Development, Education Director, PMIEF Liaison (PMI Education Foundation), and Youth & Social Impact Coordinator. In 2023, under her leadership, the chapter reorganized its PMP and CAPM study group offering and has since helped several students pass their exams. Olivia also personally mentored and coached students to certification success both within and outside of the PMI SC Midlands Chapter.

Olivia is a skilled IT professional, not only in project management but also in business analysis, data analytics, and training. Her experience includes working for state government agencies, non-profits, and in the private sector. She currently contracts with Cognizant as a PMO Project Manager.

Olivia's formal education includes a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems and a master's degree in Business with a specialization in IT Management. Additionally, she is dedicated to continual learning and keeping her skills up to date. To that end, she has obtained multiple PMI certifications, including the PMP, PMI-ACP, PMI-RMP, PMI-PBA, and PMI-PMOCP.
