Being a member of the PMI South Carolina Midlands Chapter represents a commitment to the field of project management in support of both its members and the business community in the Midlands.  We seek to understand the needs of the business community, so we can apply the knowledge, skills and experience of our membership base to help businesses achieve its goals.  When our Chapter gets engaged with a company to offer education and consultation services, we focus on how project management practices can help that company achieve its goals.

Whether you have a Project Management Office to improve upon, or would like help getting a Project Management Office in place, we can help.  If you aren’t ready for a full blown Project Management Office, chances are high your company would still benefit from putting some project management practices in place.  Our Chapter is well positioned, with a pool of hundreds of local Project Managers and full support of a Global organization known for excellence in the project management industry.

Here are just a few examples of ways we support the Midlands business community with resources from the PMI Midlands Chapter:

  • Business Consultation – This is our latest service offering to help businesses identify areas of improvement in their project management practices, processes, and tools.  Whether you are looking for a better template to use for your “Lessons Learned” meetings, or you want help rolling out a brand new Project Management Office, we want to help you be successful.  Most of the consultation work is done “pro bono”, because we see this as a fundamental area of our service to the business community.  Only certified Project Management Professionals ® are allowed to participate in business consultation services.

  •  “Lunch-n-Learn” and “Dinner-n-Learn” – Quick, 1 – 2 hours long, educational sessions over lunch or dinner where we bring in an expert to training on a variety of topics such as information technology security, managing volunteer projects, waterfall and agile methodologies, and much more!  The typical cost is $20, or less, per person.

  • Professional Development Day – Our premier annual, all day, event where we bring in many experts from all over the country, to deliver training on a variety of topics and share their best practices.  The typical cost is $250, or less, per person.

  • Volunteer Project Managers – Like all professional organizations, we like to show off our abilities to the business community.  If you have a charitable event, or small project that can be managed outside of normal business hours, we will publish your project to our membership base and recruit a Project Manager to manage your project.  Most of the time, there is no cost for this service because our members treat it as an opportunity to give back to the community.

We want to help all businesses in the South Carolina Midlands area be successful, and stay educated on best practices for project management tools and techniques.

If we can be of service to you, or you would just like to sit down and discuss how we can serve your business, please email us directly or through the “Contact Us” page.

Thank you and we look forward to working with you!
